Beverly Inkster was born in Kamloops, BC and throughout her youth always had an interest in painting and creative arts. Growing up on a farm in Silver Star Mountain just outside of Vernon offered her an opportunity to develop a deep connection to nature. This rural childhood influenced how she viewed the world; many long hours were spent drawing, writing poetry, composing songs, singing, and laying in the grass dreaming. Now that her six children are grown she is once again able to express through art her observations and thoughts and love of the land. She also enjoys introducing animation into buildings and uniting them with the vitality of nature surrounding them. To do this she combines colour and curvature in a whimsical blend representing movement and life. Beverly relies heavily on emotion and feeling in her painting. "I love colour and movement. I believe that art should come from the soul – my intention is to bring that out in my artwork." Beverly was adjudicated in 2005 and since then has maintained active status in the Canadian Federation of Artists. In January 2006 her work was exhibited in a collaborative show at the Penticton Art Gallery entitled "Six plus One". Her paintings have been displayed at galleries and wineries throughout the South Okanagan and she is represented locally by the Lloyd Gallery.
