"Based on a classical understanding of form and value, I try to convey the drama and truth of the subject in a painterly way. I deliver no social messages. The beauty of natural form and design alone have intrigued me all my life."

Moved to Toronto in 1954 and studied at the Ontario College of Art and the Toronto Artists Workshop with Albert Franck, Carl Shaeffer and Eric Friefield. Moved to White Rock, B.C. in 1966.
