The Penticton Art Gallery (formerly the Art Gallery of the South Okanagan) is a registered not-for-profit, charitable organization. We acknowledge the support of the City of Penticton, the Province of British Columbia through the BC Arts Council and the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development as well as community arts councils, sponsorships, memberships and donations. The PAG is grateful for all donations to, and supporters of our development events including the Annual Art Auction, Kitchen Stove Film Series, the Soup Bowls Project and Treasures From the Attic.

Penticton, BC – The Penticton Art Gallery is please to once again offer our dynamic Creative Kids Summer program consisting of eight themed weekly programs starting on Monday July 9th and running through Friday August 31st. For over 15 years the Penticton Art Gallery has offered the Creative Kids Summer Art Program providing the citizens of Penticton with a fun, creative and dynamic summer arts program, blending the visual arts into everyday life.
Programs are limited to 15 participants who are each given hands on training and guidance from our three creative kid’s program leaders who bring a wide range of skills and talents to this year’s program.
Each exciting week features a mix of individual and collaborative projects. Participants will be introduced to a variety of mediums such as printmaking, tie dye, cyanotype photography, and Papier-mâché. Our skilled, committed leaders offer a combination of structured activities, designed to build skills and confidence, along with child-led projects to promote creativity, independence and imagination.
The Creative Kids Summer Art Adventures program takes place in the Penticton Art Gallery’s educational space, as well as the beautiful surrounding recreational areas. Weekly field trips to Lakawana Water Park keeps participants active, while trips to beach areas for sketching and plein-air painting offer a creative change of scenery.
This year’s themes include both fan favourites from years past, such as Aquanauts, Only in the Okanagan, Futuristic Fun, and Eco Adventures, as well as some brand new themes which are sure to excite, like Prehistoric Paradise, Magnificent Musicians, Daring Detectives & Sneaky Spies, and Myths, Legends and Wild Tales.
