4-week Slow Stitch Class
Instructor: Lynn Ujvary
Price: $95 for the class + a $5 material fee = $100 / student
Dates: February 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Minimum # of students: 5, max 12
Description: Slow stitching encourages sewers to forget about perfection and forget about the finished article. Instead, it nurtures the idea of enjoying the process of stitching for stitching’s sake. Slow stitching is about using the needle and thread in the same way you would use a paintbrush. It’s about creating art, about enjoying the process rather than worrying about the product.
These supplies will be provided for you
· Needles - a Sashiko Needle for working with Denim
· Sashiko thread
· Fabric- scraps, Denim
Introduction: Basic stitches to start you off
Running and stab stitches give you an easy start before you dive deeper and learn more involved stitches such as seed stitch/double seed stitch, back stitch, running stitch
The great thing about SLOWSTITCH is that you don’t have to be great at sewing. It’s not about the stitches, it’s about the time to relax and enjoy the process. DON’T worry about making every stitch perfect, imperfections makes your project unique.
THERE ARE NO RULES!!
Supplies students need to bring week 1 Basic sewing kit, scissors, pins, needles,
Supplies to bringweek 2 *will be discussed at first class
Fabric as discussed in week 1 along with sewing thread in a matching colour to your project to embellish.
