“My work is not about the material I use, but, about the story told and the emotion felt. Through the bold excitement of colour and lines, or the muted pastels and blended shapes, each piece has a story and you can decide if you want to be influenced by it or not. Nature is what holds my attention and the Law of Attraction gathers those who feel the same way. I love the realistic details that can be presented with careful line work, but, I also love the freeing strokes of impressionism. “Bear” with me while I try it all!“

Robin Taylor – Bio Born on the prairies, but moving to the east by 6 months of age, Robin remembers her elementary school art classes being taught in French until she moved from Ottawa to Regina in 1978. She loved going to the art stores to see all the colours and took her first painting class at the college while in grade eleven. Having spent five years with drafting teacher, Mr. Bergen, and art teacher, Mr. Nadurak, she grew to love the structure of line and the freedom of colour while exploring all mediums. To this day she has yet to restrict herself to a single medium. As a member of the Aurora Art Guild and the Brushworks Art Guild in Regina, Robin had the opportunity to attend workshops, offer demonstrations and participate in many art shows. Her work has been collected across Canada and Internationally. Robin’s father is from Princeton so the family would come to BC every year or two. This influenced her artwork to include the trees, mountains, waterfalls and animals she saw while growing up. She was able to move to the Okanagan with her husband in 2014 and has been a member of the Peachland Art Group since her retirement in 2019. Her passion at the moment is bears in all mediums. A few influences have included Wilf Perreault, Lucy Cobb, Hazel Zaharik, DeLee Grant, Ken Gillespie, Anita McComas, Julie DeBoer, David Langevin and most recently, stone sculptor Vance Theoret.
