Alice Strohmaier (B 1960,CA) As a self-taught multimedia artist, Alice’s watercolour and acrylic paintings hang in private collections in across Canada and the U.S. After more than 30 years of papermaking, Alice developed Harmony Paper and Art which produces a line of cards and journals created from handmade hemp and recycled paper. With a passion for papermaking and environmental consciousness, she teaches papermaking classes to inspire others to re-use and re-purpose before recycling. Alice enjoys working with community agencies to bring the ability to create art to everyone. She has worked on art projects with South Okanagan Women In Need Society and Ooknakane Friendship Centre, did Upcycled Craft Workshops at the Penticton Spring Market, and papermaking workshops for the Arts Rising Festival. She is currently offering ‘Artsy Aging with Alice’ (to seniors 55+ in the Penticton area) through the Penticton and District Community Arts Council and Aging Well Penticton.
