Rebecca Stocker is an emerging visual artist and poet located in Penticton. For as long as she can remember she has been in a deep and devoted relationship with art and the written word. Poetry and art have always been a way for her to express herself and vent her frustrations with herself and the world. Rebecca takes much of her inspiration from the consumerist, capitalist nature of society and her disillusionment with that way of life. Her work often contains commentary on her feelings pertaining to society- whether it be directly or indirectly. Although Rebecca loves to make a statement with her art she is always happy to make art for art's sake too- art is akin to her religion, and while religion in and of itself is a statement, it is also a place to find joy and celebration.
